Before We Start Again

Before We Start Again 💕🎶

A Prequel Short Story by M.C. Walker

Before the heartbreak and the second chance, there was Arrogant Studio Guy.

Nova Brooks knows three things: her writing deserves proper credit, dinner is not payment, and Jalen King is entirely too used to hearing yes.

So when a paid studio session brings them together again, she plans to keep things professional.

One song. A few better lines. Absolutely no falling for the man at the piano.

But Jalen is learning to ask instead of assume and Nova is discovering that musical chemistry can be a very inconvenient thing.

Set shortly after their first meeting, Before We Start Again explores the playful banter, creative connection, and growing attraction that come before the love story in If We Start Again.

This 17-page illustrated digital short story includes:

💕 Nova’s first-person perspective

🎹 An early writing session with Jalen
