Anyone who has ever started anything knows just how hard it is to begin, to ignore the fear, let alone to still continue when the going gets tough, when your back hurts, when your feel stuck, through the late nights and the early mornings. It really takes a different type of passion to you keep going.

All those who have ever been in toxic, hard relationships know just how hard it is to finally leave, to let go of what you have probably known for years, to choose yourself, to prioritize your peace, let alone to forgive and forget. It requires divine transcendence to heal such trauma.

That is why I applaud daily the heart of a woman, her courage to pick herself up and still pick other's up in the process, the resilience through raising the kid(s) and caring for the family, the community, while making it all look like just a stroll in the park. This issue is celebrating that woman.

If I had to define strength, I would use the names of women who have graced the covers and pages of this magazine, each different, but each powerful in ways that have changed the trajectory of their own lives, including those around them, and that is what inspires us to keep us going.

The subject of Activism to me, starts with the topic of self-awareness and self-worth. The ability to see self, then acknowledging where you are and making decisions to gracefully move through all the hurdles with prayer and intuition. Leaving behind all that is draining you. What is most special here, is when one gathers the ability to see this for other people.

I believe that from there, it is simply the way you live your life that will be the activism agaisnt all that you have been through. I love how all the women we have spoken to, are a reflection a sister's keeper, through words and action, women carry each other in ways that can never be understood and that is the awakening of the feminine.

This has made me believe that indeed, Sistahood is the beginning of the healing that the world has craved for so long. So bo ausi, let's hold each other's hands and walk this life with love and light. The world is already a hard place, so let's be soft with each other.

May we all heal in our own pace, for universal peace.
