The Wave (Atticus Picenum, Book One)

Atticus Picenum is thirteen years old, and he has bodyguards.

His family is older than Rome, and it has kept more secrets than he can count. When he is sent to an academy on the shore of Lake Geneva, the lake itself decides where every student belongs. For Atticus, the wave does not bring him back to the dock. It takes him somewhere nobody has been in a very long time.

A dragon's cave. A library kept by a sphinx. A stone table with ten seats, and a name carved into one of them that sounds a lot like his own. And a voice in his head that keeps warning him, even when he doesn't listen.

Someone at the school knows exactly what Atticus is. They may know it better than he does.
