Snow Goose - The Complete Huntervale Hunting Guide (PDF)

The most abundant goose in North America, the toughest to fool, and a hunt that doubles as conservation work.

There is also something larger going on here. Snow goose numbers have grown so high that the birds have begun damaging the fragile Arctic tundra where they nest. Wildlife agencies, working with the US Fish and Wildlife Service, created special light goose seasons specifically to reduce the population and protect that habitat. When you hunt snow geese, you take part in a genuine management effort. This guide walks you through the whole picture - identifying the birds, scouting them, building a spread big enough to fool them, the special conservation-order rules, and how to turn that dark breast meat into food worth eating.
