Safe to Love: The Remote Control Method · a 21-day workbook for secure love
One late reply. A flat tone. A forgotten plan. And suddenly your whole evening is ruined.
That isn't because you're "too much" or "too cold". It's because someone else is holding your remote control.
We're all born holding our own remote: the buttons for our hurt, our worth, our calm, our joy. Along the way we hand access to those buttons to the people around us. And most of the fights that break our hearts aren't really about the dishes or the text. They happen when someone falls short of an expectation we never told them we had, one we inherited from our culture, our upbringing and the relationships we watched growing up.
Safe to Love is my 21-day programme for taking your remote back and learning to love from a secure place, starting with yourself.
The Remote Control Method
- Find the remote. See who holds your buttons, and discover your attachment pattern: anxious, avoidant, fearful or secure.
- Read the script. Uncover the hidden expectations behind your conflicts: cultural, family and the patterns you watched.
- Unlearn. Keep what's truly yours, rewrite what needs updating, release what was never yours to carry.
- Rebuild. Set boundaries rooted in what you need, what you desire and what you're genuinely willing to tolerate.
- Respond. Step back as the Observer and ask: am I loving myself right now, or am I clinging, or pushing away someone who cares?
