EPP Butterfly (Small)
English Paper Piecing (EPP) is a fun and very portable form of hand sewing. Although traditionally many EPP patterns consist of simple geometric shapes grouped to form more complex patchwork designs, my patterns are somewhat different in that I use geometric shapes to create images.
This pattern or template is the first in a series of EPP Butterflies that have been designed to be appliqued onto any background and as such is ideal for embelishing quilts, home decor items, clothing and more. It is ideal for using up fabric scraps but it is recommended that, if making the smaller size in particular, lightweight fabrics are used.
This pattern contains templates for two different sizes of this butterfly. The first will finish at 3" in height and contains several very small pieces. The second will finish at 6" in height. Please note that you will need access to a printer to print the pattern/papper pieces
Basic Skills Necessary:
The pattern does not include instructions on the basics of how to EPP and as such is aimed at the intermediate level sewer who is already familiar with these skills and who is confident of their ability to work with pieces of small size and of a variety of shapes.
