A tutorial for my Christmas Tree Brooch or Ornament. This brooch uses bead embroidery techniques with sequins, to make a statement brooch or fun ornament. Will suit intermediate bead weavers or bead embroiderers, or intermediate embroiderers looking to learn bead embroidery.

The thirteen page tutorial contains a full materials list, with suggestions for suppliers, and every step is fully illustrated with a detailed diagram showing thread paths etc, photos to show you what you are aiming for and every step is also written out clearly (in English). All of the different techniques used are covered in full, with tips as well as stepped out instructions, and you should finish this piece ready to use the techniques in your own designs - maybe create the bauble shown in the last photo which is described in the tutorial.

The finished tree is 5.5cm wide and 7.5cm tall, but you can pick your own size if you'd like it to be bigger or smaller.

You will need:
  • Around 100 mixed size and shape sequins in 3 or 4 colours (for the ombre effect)
  • 1g of size 15 seed beads, 1g of size 11 seed beads.
  • Brooch back
  • Bead backing in a colour to tone with your beads
  • Backing material - Ultrasuede or similar.
  • Strong Glue - I use E6000
  • Beadweaving needles, thread of your choice (but not Fireline or similar - they are awful for embroidery, way too stiff and you’ll want to match colours)
Please note that this listing is for a PDF tutorial, not a finished piece of beadwork, and not a kit - just the instructions. The tutorial will available through Payhip for you to download as a PDF as soon as possible after Payhip detects a cleared payment.

I also sell materials packs which contain the beads, sequins, backing, foundation and brooch back required to make this brooch, and for a limited time a PDF copy of this tutorial will be included with the packs for free! https://www.etsy.com/uk/listing/747761614/materials-pack-for-christmas-tree-brooch?ref=shop_home_active_1

As a beader who designs and sells largely to support my own out of control bead buying habit, you may make from my tutorials to sell (in small quantities only) so you can buy lots more beads (and tutorials), but please ensure you give me full credit as designer.
Please do respect my rights as a designer and do not pass finished pieces off as your own design, teach the design, or reproduce this tutorial or the images in it in any way. Thank you!
You will get a PDF (14MB) file
