Strength + Hope

I conceived this shawl with the goal of integrating varying perspectives (across all social contexts!), and this concept is even more relevant now than it was during the COVID lockdown.

Originally worked in a DK-weight commercially available yarn in two colorways, I have reworked the color and fiber perspective on the design, incorporating red elements via a purple Voie de Vie colorway (Majestic Tulips), and holding a deep blue strand of lace mohair throughout alongside both light blue and purple strands of fingering weight. Worked flat from the short end, with the lace edging worked along two sides at the end, this shawl is a cool vision in blue with minimal ends to weave in and all the warmth wool and mohair can muster. It is meditative with just enough spice at the lace edge to keep things interesting.
