NYX - Mistress night

Goddess Song

by Eve Lovestar

Nyx, Ancient Greek Goddess on the Night

Nyx’s Song

I live at the end of the world in a little hut.

In a little hut, my home,

The Day, my daughter and I, night, are contained.

I live at the end of worlds

In a place I call my own.

We live in a calm and eerie place

Wrapped in clouds near the entrance

Of the underworld.

Always robed in black, adorned with stars

And cloaked by the dark

I am. I am the Night, I am dark

But I sparkle.

Some think I’m horrible,

I am not. I am somber,

And within me hide terrors,

but also growth and rest.

I am very powerful and feared. I am strong.

I am Nyx, goddess and mistress of the Night,

The personification of the Night,

I am not young, like the other gods,

I am ancient, a true original.

They rule the world,

But I work for the cosmos.

Silly gods with their ways, with their wars,

With their friend, and their dramas,

They are a deceitful bunch

Not to be trusted,

But even Zeus will not dare displease me.

Let the Night Take Over

Finish all your duties

And right all the wrongs

You can.

Let go of the wishes

That didn’t come through

Today.

~~~
If once at night
you stay awake,
then call my name
and you’ll be well.
~~~

The Night is my Refuge

The night is my refuge

It is when I can see,

The night is where I’m home,

My comfort zone indeed.

I am the night,

I wield it and I rule it,

But you can trust in me,

For I’m the better ruler.

Embracing the Primordial Night: A Guide to Working with Nyx

To work with Nyx, the primordial Greek goddess of the Night, is to step away from the well-trodden paths of Olympus and into the vast, star-studded embrace of the cosmos itself. She is not a goddess of petty dramas or simple petitions; she is an elemental force, a foundational aspect of existence that predates the gods of myth and will outlast them. To invite her into your practice is to seek wisdom from the source of all mystery, to find strength in shadow, and to learn the profound truths that can only be revealed in the dark.

The Night's Embrace Challenge: A Ritual of Reclamation

The Premise: This is not about proving you're fearless. It's about changing your relationship with the dark. We are not confronting a monster; we are meeting an ancient, quiet energy on its own terms. The goal is not to endure, but to observe. This challenge is designed to be done safely in your own home or backyard.
