Most Muslim parents want their children to grow up with a real connection to the Quran. Not just reciting it - but understanding it. Feeling it.

The challenge is knowing where to start.

My Quran Word Journey is a beautifully designed, research-backed PDF programme that introduces your child to the most important words in the Quran. Five at a time, one week at a time, across 100 weeks.

No Arabic knowledge required. No complicated grammar. Just five words a week, woven naturally into your daily life at home.

What's inside

✦ 100 weekly word charts - each one designed to print and put on your fridge

✦ 500 carefully selected high-frequency Quranic words, drawn from the Quranic Arabic Corpus frequency data and the Understand Al-Quran Academy curriculum

✦ Every word presented with its Arabic script, pronunciation guide, and English meaning

✦ Three practical teaching tips per week — how to introduce the words, how to use them daily, and how to connect them back to words your child already knows

✦ 24 thematic months — from Names of Allah and the natural world through to the Prophets, the Five Pillars, and the language of dua

✦ A full contents page and month divider pages so the journey feels like a book, not just a worksheet

Why this works for young children

The programme is built around how children actually learn - through repetition, association, and warmth rather than testing and drilling. Each word is introduced in the context of real moments: pointing at the sun and saying shams, saying maa when your child drinks water, whispering hubb at bedtime.

By the time your child starts school, they will have heard the most important words in the Quran hundreds of times - in the home, in salah, in conversation - and those words will feel like old friends.

The research behind the word list

The 500 words in this programme are drawn from frequency analysis of the Quranic text. Due to the Quran's structure and repetition, a relatively small number of words account for a very large proportion of the total text:

  • The 125 most frequent words cover approximately 50% of the Quran
  • The 250 most frequent words cover approximately 75%
  • The 500 most frequent words cover approximately 85%

Every word in this programme has been chosen because it appears frequently in the Quran and because it can be meaningfully introduced to a young child within the context of daily family life.

Who this is for

✦ Parents of children aged 2 and above who want to build an early connection to Quranic Arabic

✦ Families with no Arabic background who want a clear, accessible starting point

✦ Parents who already have some Arabic knowledge and want a structured way to pass it on

✦ Anyone who wants to strengthen their own Quranic vocabulary alongside their child

This programme grows with your child. The early weeks are designed for toddlers. By the later months, the vocabulary is rich enough to engage children in primary school and beyond - and genuinely useful for adults too.

What you'll receive

A note from the author

This programme started as something I made for my own family. I wanted a simple, joyful way to introduce my child to the language of the Quran - something we could do in five minutes a day without it feeling like a lesson. I couldn't find exactly what I was looking for, so I built it.

I hope it brings as much warmth to your home as it has to ours.
