Aquarium from "The Carnival of the Animals" - Saint-Saëns (pedal harp, advanced)
A beautiful mystical sounding work. Fun fact: When Disney was developing Beauty and the Beast, the creative team needed temporary placeholder music for the opening prologue before the score was written. They used Saint‑Saëns’ “Aquarium” as the temp track during early storyboarding and editing. The mood was mysterious, magical, suspended in time, that which the final score by Alan Menken mirrors its atmosphere, harmonic pacing, and texture even though it’s an original composition.
