Cash Flow Forecasting Template - EXCEL

This template will enable you to visualise your month by month and year on year financial position for your business. Understanding your business' cash flow is fundamental in developing a business that is viable, can overcome uncertain economic times and ultimately thrives.
Whether you are just starting out in business and want to understand the profit margins you will need to remain profitable, or whether you are already established but want a user-friendly visual aid, this template is for you.
This template has several auto-calculate functions based on your inputs. There are three main cash flow forecasting templates included - Full, Simple and Year on Year.
Full Month-by-Month Template:
The full template includes three columns per month, with columns for expected and actual income and costs and a variance column, that is automatically calculated based on the values entered. Additionally, there are quarterly and annual totals. Variance is helpful as it enables more accurate future projections, as well as being used to identify trends. There is a completed example of three months of a full template for reference as the last tab within the template.
Simple Month-by-Month Template:
The simple template is a reduced version of the full template, with only one column per month where you can include either forecasted or actual values. This is a good starting point for those new to forecasting or those wanting to try some quick modelling for hypothetical scenarios.
Year on Year Template:
The Year on Year template requires you to enter total figures only, which can be obtained from either the completed full or simple tab. This will give you an overview of the long term viability of your business and also pre-calculates your gross and net profit margins as well as your return on capital invested.
