Velveteen Sweater

This pattern is available both in English and French.

The Velveteen Sweater as a “sister design” which is a cardigan called Velveteen Rose. When you buy this pattern, you will also receive the cardigan’s pattern.

Sometimes when you like a design, you just want to play with the same idea once more. After the Velveteen Rose Cardigan, here’s the Velveteen Sweater.

Same retro vibes, same comfy shape and always with the V neckline. Worked in one piece, top down, without any seams, it’s a pleasing project that won’t need too much concentration.

And my favorite part of this design is the fabric. Mixing Kumo and Merino Bouclé gives the most squishy-soft texture I’ve ever seen. It’s like wearing a warm cloud.

GAUGE

16 sts x 26 rows for 10 cm in stocking stitch on 5mm needles.

SIZES 

1 (2 – 3 – 4) 5 – 6 (7 – 8 – 9) 

Finished chest measurement 90 (100 – 110 – 120) 130 – 140 (150 – 160 – 170) cm. 

Choose a size with 10-15 cm of positive ease, or according to your preference.

YARN 

3 (3 – 3 – 4) 4 – 4 (4 – 5 – 5) skeins of La Bien Aimée « Bouclée » 

and 2 (2 – 2 – 3) 3 – 3 (3 – 3 – 3) skeins of La Bien Aimée « Kumo »

And 1 (1 – 1 – 2) 2 – 2 (2 – 2 – 2) skeins of La Bien Aimée « Wensley Worsted », shown here in Fluoro Morganite (CC).

Parfois, lorsque vous aimez un design, vous avez simplement envie de rejouer avec la même idée. Après le Velveteen Rose Cardigan, voici le Velveteen Sweater.

Même esprit rétro, même forme confortable et toujours avec le décolleté en V. Tricoté d’une seule pièce, de haut en bas, sans aucune couture, c’est un projet agréable qui ne demandera pas trop de concentration.

Et ce que je préfère dans ce modèle, c’est le tissu. Le mélange de Kumo et de Merino Bouclé donne la texture la plus douce et moelleuse que j’ai jamais vue. C’est comme porter un nuage chaud.
