Sweden had not been at war since 1814. But because the country was on the right side of supporting Napoleon or not, Sweden was served a country called Norway on a silver platter. But the proud people of Norway had more in common with Denmark, which had chosen the wrong side and was on Napoleon's side. France's celebrated General had become King of Sweden and now Sweden needed to forcefully discipline Norway into a Union that lasted from 1814 to 1905.

I have read a lot of non-fiction books about history. Basically, I am an insurance man, now retired. As an educated person, I have a University degree IFU Diploma. From 1989 to 2005 I ran an insurance brokerage and had good success.

The Horn Af Kanckas family has been known since 1381.

The origin is from present-day Finland, but before 1809 it was Sweden. Åminne, Halikko Parish Finland.

The ancestor of the family was Olof Mattsson (Horn)

The family farm was a manor. In Masku.

Chapter 2 Gabriel joins the Scouts

Gabriel joins the Scouts in Malmö.

The choice to join the Scouts in Malmö came about quite by chance. Elena and Gabriel were at the city library in Malmö.

It was a fairly short bike ride from the villa in Fridhem to the library. You could either choose to drive out onto Regementsgatan and cycle towards the city centre to the library which was then on the left and on the right was Sankt Petriskola. Or you could cycle Tessin's road towards the castle park and then through the castle park and up to what was once a museum. The nickname for the building is the castle. The design seems to be a small French castle with towers at the corners. But red brick is more of a Swedish facade than a French one. So a strong mix of styles.

The weather was pleasant around fifteen degrees now in April 1969.

Gabriel had his new bike and Elena had the most expensive Crescent women's bike she could find. Red frame and it was a bit cool to glide through the castle park. When you entered via Tessins väg you had just passed the Ribershus high-rise buildings.
