HISTORACLE

Eight Stories. One Lens. A Different Way of Seeing.

After decades of reading history, I realized I was often more interested in the people than the events themselves.

Because the people who lived centuries ago aren't nearly as different from us as we'd like to think.

This project includes a personal welcome letter, eight conversational stories, and The Historacle Manifesto, where I share the questions, patterns, and lessons history has taught me over the years.

The stories themselves are less about the events and more about the people inside them. I write them the way I would tell them sitting across the table from you over a cup of coffee. I'm not really an author.

I'm just someone who loves history, is fascinated by human nature, and asks a lot of questions.

We already know how these stories end. The people living inside them didn't. They didn't know they were making history and that's where I think the real story begins.

I place you at the starting line, trying to understand the world they lived in and the uncertainty they were trying to navigate. Because they didn't have the luxury of sitting at the finish line like we do and I believe understanding the starting line matters more than judging the finish line.

Social media tells us which side to choose.

Politics tells us who's right and who's wrong.

The news tells us what happened.

Historacle asks:

"What pattern have we seen before?"

I'll never tell you what to think and I'm certainly not offering certainty or all the answers but I am offering clarity.

My goal is simply to tell good stories, ask good questions, and hopefully encourage you to do the same.

Because I don't study history to understand dead people. I study history to understand the living.

And if you've ever found yourself wondering why people do the things they do, I think you'll feel right at home here.

Welcome to Historacle.
