Friendship & Kindness
Friendships help children feel happy, included and supported. In this educational wellbeing session, children explore what it means to be a good friend, how kindness helps friendships grow and simple ways to build positive relationships with others.
Children learn that friendships can sometimes have problems or disagreements, but there are healthy ways to work through these challenges. Through discussion and activities, children practise kindness, sharing, listening, helping others and asking for help when they need it.
This session helps children learn to:
✔ Understand what makes a good friend
✔ Recognise kind and helpful friendship behaviours
✔ Learn the importance of sharing and taking turns
✔ Understand why listening is an important friendship skill
✔ Explore ways to include others and show kindness
✔ Learn simple ways to solve friendship problems
✔ Understand when to ask a trusted adult for help
✔ Practise staying calm when friendship difficulties happen
✔ Build confidence in making positive friendship choices
✔ Create a personalised Friendship Calm Bracelet to help remember friendship skills and calming strategies
