SUMMER BEHIND THE DALTON LIGHTS

Two brothers. One unforgettable summer. A lifetime of memories.

Dalton, Georgia — 1986.

Two young brothers are living life one day at a time. They work at a family-style restaurant, but when the workday ends, they don't have an apartment or comfortable home waiting for them.

They sleep in the woods behind the restaurant.

They wash up using the restaurant's water hose, sometimes sneak into the nearby Days Inn pool at night, and spend much of what they earn on beer and whiskey.

Downtown, a little park behind Krystal becomes a gathering place for people living on the streets. They may not have much, but they look out for one another. Friendships form, women come and go, nights get wild, and unforgettable characters become part of the brothers' lives.

But beneath all the drinking, laughter, and crazy adventures is something deeper—a story about brotherhood, survival, friendship, hardship, and a summer that could never be forgotten.

Summer Behind the Dalton Lights is especially meaningful because it was inspired in part by personal experiences shared by the author and his late brother.

Some summers disappear with time.

Others stay with you for the rest of your life.
