Gauge & Swatching
Using 3.25mm / US size 3 needles, or needle size required to meet gauge, 26 stitches over 36 rounds in stockinette stitch, blocked, creates a 4x4” / 10cm square.
For the body, there are two sets of instructions: one for working the body in the round, and one for working the body flat (in two pieces for front and back). Based on your cabled swatch and personal preferences, you can choose which set of instructions to follow.
Once the underarm is reached, the instructions are the same regardless of whether you opted to work the body in the round or flat. Front and back above the underarm are worked flat, before being joined at the shoulder seam. The neckline is V-shaped, so some of the front section is worked in two halves. Sleeve stitches are picked up around the armhole edge and short row shaping is incorporated into the upper sleeves for optimal fit.
