Following the Ancient Path — Study IV Dominion and Work: Trusted Before the Fall, Strained After It, Restored Through the Spirit
The assignment was never taken away.
It was restored—and you were never meant to carry it alone.
The story of the garden does not end with creation.
In Study IV: Dominion and Work, we follow the thread forward—from the trust given in the beginning, through the fracture of the fall, and into the restoration that comes through the Second Adam and the gift of the Holy Spirit.
Genesis reveals a calling that was never revoked:
- Dominion entrusted to the image-bearer
- Work carried out in the presence of God
- Responsibility rooted in relationship
The fall did not remove this calling—it altered the conditions.
Work became strained.
Creation resisted.
And the assignment began to be carried in the midst of real opposition.
But the story does not end there.
Through Yeshua, the image is restored.
Through the Spirit, the work is empowered.
This study explores:
- Dominion as a trust, not independent control
- Work before the fall—ordered, clear, and aligned
- Work after the fall—strained but not removed
- The restoration of the image through the Second Adam
- The role of the Holy Spirit in empowering the work
- Carrying God’s assignment in the midst of spiritual opposition
This is not simply a study of work.
It is a return to understanding calling—before the fall, after it, and through the Spirit.
