Gebrüder Resch -Two-Weight Vienna Regulator c. 1883-1885
Crafted in Austria during the 1880s, this clock represents the renowned "Vienna Regulator" architectural style. The full-length glazed front door and viewing side lights provide an open view of the internal mechanics, spoked brass pulleys, and hanging weights. Flanked by lathe-turned baluster side columns and crowned by an architectural stepped cornice pediment, it exemplifies late-19th-century Austrian cabinetmaking.
Houses a precision 8-day weight-driven mechanical brass movement stamped by the famed Austrian firm Gebrüder Resch (Serial #99103). Powered by twin polished-brass canister weights on spoked pulleys, it delivers constant, gravity-fed power to the gear train and Graham deadbeat escapement. Features a two-piece porcelain dial with a subsidiary seconds track and pierced hands.
