The PPS-43 submachine gun (Pistolet-Pulemyot Sudaeva, 1943 model) is an iconic weapon from World War II, originating from the Soviet Union. Designed by Alexei Sudayev, it was developed as a response to the need for a simple, reliable, and quickly producible submachine gun for Soviet forces during the war.

With a compact and robust design, the PPS-43 was known for its effectiveness in close-range combat. Using the 7.62x25mm Tokarev cartridge, it was capable of an impressive rate of fire, approximately 900 rounds per minute. Its simplicity of operation and maintenance made it popular among Soviet troops and it remained in service post-war, seeing action in conflicts worldwide for decades. The PPS-43 is recognized as one of the most iconic and influential submachine guns of the 20th century.
