HATE – Without A Cause by Bro H
“He was despised and rejected by men, A Man of sorrows and acquainted with grief.” Delivered by the determined counsel And foreknowledge of God— Taken by wicked hands, Crucified and slain. [Verse 1] Herod heard that Israel’s King was born; In wrath he struck at Bethlehem. The Pharisees went out and held a council, Planning how they might destroy Him. Nazareth rose and thrust Him from the city, Leading Him to the brow of the hill; But He passed through the midst of them, For His appointed hour had not yet come. [Chorus] “They hated Me without a cause. He who hates Me hates My Father also. They have both seen and hated Both Me and My Father. This happened that the word might be fulfilled: They hated Me without a cause.” [Verse 2] He healed the helpless on the Sabbath; Therefore they sought to take His life. “My Father is working until now, And I Myself am working.” “Before Abraham was, I AM”— They lifted stones within the temple. “I and My Father are one”— Again they took up stones against Him. “For a good work we do not stone You, But because You, being a Man, Make Yourself God.” They understood the claim He made, And hated the Light that exposed them. [Verse 3] Lazarus heard, “Come forth,” and lived; The grave released its evidence. The chief priests and Pharisees gathered: “What shall we do? For this Man performs many signs.” “If we let Him alone, Everyone will believe in Him.” From that day forward They planned together to put Him to death; Then they sought to kill Lazarus also, Because many believed through him. [Chorus] “They hated Me without a cause. He who hates Me hates My Father also. They have both seen and hated Both Me and My Father. This happened that the word might be fulfilled: They hated Me without a cause.” [Verse 4] Judas asked the price of betrayal; They weighed him thirty pieces of silver. Lanterns, torches, swords, and weapons Entered the garden in the night. Pilate said, “I find no fault in Him.” They cried, “Not this Man, but Barabbas!” “Behold your King!” “Away with Him! Crucify Him! We have no king but Caesar!” “You could have no power at all against Me Unless it had been given you from above; Therefore the one who delivered Me to you Has the greater sin.” [Verse 5] “The mouth of the wicked And the mouth of deceit Have opened against Me. They have spoken against Me With a lying tongue. “They surrounded Me with words of hatred And fought against Me without a cause. In return for My love, they accuse Me, But I give Myself to prayer. They reward Me evil for good And hatred for My love.” [Verse 6] “If the world hates you, You know that it hated Me before it hated you. Because you are not of the world, But I chose you out of the world, Therefore the world hates you.” “You will be hated by all for My name’s sake; But he who endures to the end will be saved.” “In the world you will have tribulation; But be of good cheer: I have overcome the world.” [Bridge] “To everything there is a season, And a time for every purpose under heaven: A time to love, And a time to hate; A time of war, And a time of peace.” “You who love Yahweh, hate evil.” Have no fellowship With the unfruitful works of darkness, But rather expose them. [Final Chorus] “They hated Me without a cause. He who hates Me hates My Father also. They have both seen and hated Both Me and My Father. Blessed are you when they revile and persecute you And falsely say every kind of evil against you For My sake. Rejoice and be exceedingly glad— For so they persecuted The prophets who were before you. They hated Me without a cause.”
