This itty, bitty elf hat was initially made for a yarn shop promotion where I worked. I made this pattern to sell in a Christmas in July type sale to get people ready for their holiday knitting. Rather than go with the common red and white for my sample, I made a more general elf, using a teal and white. You can see a traditional red and white here. I’ve revised the pattern and added a larger size for an older baby.
If you wish to make a Santa type hat, consider adding a jingle bell to the top, instead of the pom pom.

Gauge: 26 stitches and 40 rows = 4 inches in Stockinette
