PRISMS (SIX SONGS BY STING) for guitar & string quartet by Sting-Bogdanovic

Prisms is a collection of six recompositions of some of Sting’s most celebrated songs, namely: “Every Breath You Take (Prelude)”,  “Message in a Bottle” (Dance), “Shape of My Heart” (Ballad), “Fields of Gold” (Choral),  “Roxanne” (Passacaglia), and “Desert Rose” (Dance).  Rather than conventional arrangements, these works by Dusan Bogdanovic reinterpret the original material through new harmonic, rhythmic, and stylistic perspectives.

Sting said about this piece: “How exciting to hear these new compositions arise from the broken fragments of my songs, unfettered by the necessity to avoid dissonance, and freed of the dictatorial chains of common time and rudimentary harmony, to soar like a flight of starlings into a limitless sky. Dusan Bogdanovic and Edin Karamazov have taken these songs into other worlds, into a more complex universe of the imagination, and at the same time retained the essential simplicity of these popular musical themes. I am thrilled with the results.”

Performed by Edin Karamazov, Guitar & Stefan Milenkovic, Violin, Kristina Suklar, Violin, Aleksandar Milosev, Viola, Yishu Jiang, Cello.
