Male CPR – Controlled Rescue

GuāngLín is halfway through a demanding home workout when a sudden, crushing pain seizes his chest. His breathing falters. The strength drains from his body as panic sets in.

Sensing something is wrong, his roommate TíngHui guides him to the bed and hands him a cup of water, urging him to rest. However, the pain only tightens its grip. Moments later, GuāngLín collapses against TíngHui’s shoulder, slipping into unresponsiveness. There’s no time to waste.

TíngHui lowers him onto the bed, rips open his shirt, and begins urgent chest compressions. The defibrillator powers up. Pads are placed. Shock after shock pulses through GuāngLín’s body as TíngHui fights to restore a rhythm. At last—GuāngLín is pulled back.

Relief barely has time to settle before everything changes. To GuāngLín’s disbelief, TíngHui’s expression hardens. The “rescue” isn’t over yet. What follows plunges GuāngLín back into darkness, leaving one chilling question hanging in the air: Was this ever just about saving him?
