Galette Hat

Sometimes, I want to bake a treat but am low on energy or time or both. On those days, I turn to the fruit galette, a simple, rustic pastry that is always a hit at home or at a gathering. It’s an easy bake with high impact.

And like the fruit galette, this hat is meant to be an easy knit with major visual appeal. Its simple, all-over texture lets you settle into a soothing rhythm while you work, but the crown shaping has echoes of a big, cheerful flower. Everything looks much more complicated than it is, with the result that you get a mellow knit while everyone else thinks you’ve undertaken something very complex.

S (M, L) – Finished circumference 20” (21.5”, 23”)/ 51 cm (55cm, 58 cm)

A note about sizing: most people prefer their hats to fit snugly. Choose a size a little smaller than your actual head circumference.
