Autumn Break

The Autumn-Break Sweater is designed to highlight the unique qualities of alpaca yarn. Its simple cut and refined details let the drape and texture of the yarn take centre stage.

The sweater is worked in reverse stockinette stitch with faux seams down the middle of the front, back, and sleeves, created using simple slip-stitch.

Worked from the bottom up and seamed at the shoulders, stitches are picked up to form the neckband. The sleeves are worked top-down, with short rows shaping the shoulders. The hem features side splits and is slightly longer at the back, while slip-stitch ribbing is used for the bands. The wide squared neckline adds an elegant, understated detail.

The design is named after a family holiday in autumn, where conversations about the sweater’s design helped inspire its final form.
