A chargeback deadline is a poor time to search through order records, tracking pages, customer emails, policy versions, and disconnected screenshots.

Valas Chargeback Evidence Desk gives Shopify merchants one private, structured workspace for preparing the administrative side of a response. Record the case exactly as it appears in Shopify, inventory the evidence you already control, build a factual chronology, draft a concise response, and run a final readiness check before manually submitting through the correct platform.

The product is an immediate digital download. It is reusable across an unlimited number of disputes for one purchasing business, subject to the included license. There is no account, seller customization, subscription, Shopify installation, or per-order fulfillment.

What the Evidence Desk helps you do?

This Shopify Edition is intended for chargebacks and inquiries handled through Shopify Payments in Shopify Admin. Disputes handled by a third-party payment provider are outside the product's Shopify-specific scope and support; follow that provider's terminology, deadline, evidence, and submission instructions instead.

What it does not do?

The Evidence Desk does not connect to Shopify, retrieve an order, monitor a deadline, evaluate fraud, decide whether to accept or contest a dispute, select evidence for you, contact a customer or bank, inspect or authenticate file contents, verify PDF/A, detect PDF Portfolios, automatically count PDF pages, merge/convert/crop/redact/compress files, upload evidence, submit a response, appeal a result, or provide case-specific review. Its limited metadata preflight does not guarantee that a file complies with Shopify's live requirements or will be accepted.

It is not legal, financial, accounting, tax, fraud, compliance, card-network, payment-processing, or professional advice. It does not replace the live Shopify instructions, payment-provider guidance, or qualified professional review.

A realistic promise

This product gives you a more organized preparation workflow and a clearer record of the facts and evidence you choose to enter. It cannot guarantee that a bank accepts evidence or rules in your favor. It does not guarantee recovered funds, avoided fees, lower chargeback rates, continued payment processing, account standing, or any other financial or business result.

Shopify states that evidence varies by dispute type and that strong evidence still does not guarantee a win because the issuing bank controls the decision. Shopify also states that evidence cannot be added after the deadline and that an early-submitted response cannot be edited. Always check the live case before relying on a saved draft.

Privacy and requirements

Open the included HTML app in a current desktop version of Chrome, Edge, Firefox, or Safari with JavaScript, local storage, downloads, and print-to-PDF enabled. No Shopify login is entered into the app. No API key, installation, cloud account, analytics connection, or ongoing fee is required.

Working data stays in the browser profile unless the buyer exports it. Files selected for metadata preflight remain local and their contents are not stored in the saved project or JSON backup. Browser storage is not an encrypted evidence vault or managed backup. Do not enter full payment-card numbers, passwords, one-time codes, government IDs, authentication secrets, or unnecessary sensitive information. Preserve source evidence and exported backups in an access-controlled business folder.

License

One purchase licenses one legal business entity to use the product for unlimited chargeback or inquiry matters across Shopify stores that the same business owns or operates. Employees and direct individual contractors may use it only for that purchasing business.

Completed outputs may be used and shared for that business's own disputes. The app, source files, guides, sample data, and editable templates may not be shared, resold, sublicensed, hosted, repackaged, or used across unrelated clients or businesses. See the included license for the complete terms.

Refund and support summary

Support covers download access, basic opening instructions, documented-feature clarification, and reproducible product defects. It does not cover case review, evidence selection, Shopify administration, file preparation, submission, deadline monitoring, legal advice, or outcome analysis.

Duplicate purchases, material misdescription, and qualifying unresolved technical defects are covered as described in the included Support Boundaries. A refund is not based on a bank or processor outcome, missed deadline, recovered funds, fees, or account status.

FAQ

Does this connect to my Shopify store?

No. It is a downloadable offline browser app. You manually enter the minimum information needed for your working record and manually submit final evidence through Shopify or the applicable provider.

Will it automatically create or upload my evidence files?

No. It organizes an evidence inventory, chronology, response draft, and readiness check. When you select working files, it performs a limited local metadata preflight for PDF/JPEG/PNG extension/browser MIME, individual and combined size, and a manually entered PDF page count. It does not store the file contents, inspect or authenticate them, verify PDF/A, merge, convert, crop, redact, compress, upload, or submit them. Passing the preflight is not a compliance or acceptance guarantee.

Does it tell me whether I will win?

No. It does not calculate a win probability, case grade, legal conclusion, or guaranteed result. The issuing bank or other authorized decision-maker controls the outcome.

Is it only for Shopify Payments?

Yes. The Shopify-specific status, reason, deadline, and submission guidance is built for Shopify Payments in Shopify Admin. A dispute handled by a third-party provider is outside this edition's supported scope; follow that provider's live process.

Can an agency use it for client stores?

The standard license covers one purchasing legal business and stores that business owns or operates. It does not cover unrelated client businesses. Each separate client business requires its own license unless Valas later publishes a separate agency license.

Is customer or card data sent to Valas?

No built-in app connection sends working data to Valas. The app operates locally. Buyers remain responsible for device security, appropriate data minimization, access control, backups, retention, and lawful handling.

Do I receive it immediately?

Yes. Payhip provides the buyer ZIP automatically on the post-purchase download page and by receipt link after successful checkout. No seller customization or manual delivery is included.

What if Shopify changes its requirements?

Always use the live Shopify or payment-provider instructions. Version 1.0 includes a dated preparation reference, not a promise of perpetual platform compatibility. Voluntary replacement files may be made available through the original Payhip download, but future updates are not guaranteed.
