Great Blog and eBook

Just got back from an amazing vacation in Taiwan. Thanks in large part to Nick's blog, I had a truly unforgettable trip. The tips for the trip to Alishan, Sun Moon Lake, and the night markets were especially valuable (and the tips for the Nanjichang and Ningxia night markets deserve a special mention—they were just great!). That's why I bought the eBook afterwards — as a way of supporting this fantastic work. Thank you very much!

Better than Lonely Planet!

A very comprehensive guide with excellent tips, tricks and advice! I'm heading off on a solo trip to Taiwan in March 26 and now have great confidence in my itinerary (which I set up based on this guide). I especially appreciate that I was sent a free 2026 version after I'd purchased an earlier one. That's great customer service!

The “Holy Grail” guide on everything about Taiwan! Superbly value for money!

Taiwan is a huge country with thousands of places to visit, sightseeing & enjoy their food culture. The traveling routes, the logistics & planning etc are definitely daunting for first timers & those who travel in large groups (families).
Nick has “magically” organised everything we need into a very neat, detailed & clear information to read. For those who prefer summary versions, he has written concise format of each category & topics to read on the fly easily.
Nick isn’t Taiwanese & not educated in Chinese language yet he is able to translate all the details into English for all of us! Simply amazing & steer tons of hard work. Kudos!!!! He even knows the public buses’ routes, timings & which days the buses don’t operate. This level of details is staggering!
His e-books catered to everyone; backpacker, couples, families with kids & elderly regardless of your budgets (thrift, mid-tier or luxury)
Best is to buy both (1) 3-week Taiwan itinerary & (2) Nick’s Taiwan Travel Guide.
To be honest, it’s not even expensive at all, in fact they are underpriced!
You just need patience to read through his ebooks thoroughly so that you can plan what you prefer to do in Taiwan or simply follow his itinerary.
No other travel books can even be on par with Nick’s ebooks & also his websites. These are all a huge treasure trove of insider’s knowledge & information to help you save time, efforts, “heartaches” & money!
Nick’s ebooks helped me so much in my plannings for my recent Taiwan trip. My family had a lot of fun during this trip. All thanks to Nick!
Lastly, do try to book the things you need in Taiwan via Nick’s affiliate links. (Klook, KKDay or Booking.com etc) - it doesn’t cost us a cent but allows Nick to earn some money for all his hard work. He always updates his e-books & websites wherever possible; on the latest changes & status of the attractions, places to go.
Nick even sent us the latest 2026 version even though we had bought the 2025 version.
PS: I don’t know Nick at all, just writing this out of my experience. Unsponsored.

Great for Taiwan Travels

Of all the guides I have read for my Taiwan trip this one was clearly the best. Nick's guide is easy to read and well organized. I had a fun time in Taiwan and this guide helped me.

Nick’s guide should be your first stop in planning for a Taiwan trip

I found this guide invaluable. It was not only just updated, it’s essentially continually updated by combining it with his Taiwan Obsessed site as well as his facebook group. Nick is personally engaged on those two sites and the book contains links to them. It’s worthwhile getting the book though because it pulls together the disparate ideas and places discussed on his sites. The combination is unbeatable. I also bought the LP guide, which was more recently updated than they usually seem to be, and I read it, but this is what I referred to daily on my month long trip.
