Winter glories: glorious is the warmed bed; glorious is the hot chocolate or spiced wine by the fireside when you come into from the cold. Glorious is the perfect hat to chase away the winter blues with unapologetic glee and sparkle.
This hat is designed for DK yarn and has knit-in beads. It’s a perfect first beading project. The beads really can’t be felt when you wear the hat as they pop to the outside of the fabric.

Sizes
Choose a size approx. 7-10 cm (3 ½ -4 in) less than your actual head size for a snug fit.
Finished sizes
3- 4 years: 40cm/15 ¾ in circ. and 15.5cm/ 6 ¼ in length
4 years- adult S: 46cm/18 in circ. and 19cm/ 7 ½ in length
Adult M: 48.5cm/19 ¼ in circ. and 21.5cm/8 ¼ in length
Adult L: 54cm/21 ½ in circ. and 22cm/ 8 ¾ in length

Needles:
4mm (US 6) circular needle or correct needle size to achieve gauge and a needle 0.5-1mm (1-2 US sizes) smaller for the ribbing. You can use DPNS if you prefer. Pattern assumes magic loop, but you may substitute your preferred method for small circumference knitting when decreasing the crown.

Approx: 112 (144, 161, 209) light plastic beads (allow some extra) with holes large enough to get your yarn through. Mine are mostly 8mm+ beads with 2mm+ holes.
Faux fur pompom (optional)
Yarn and yardage
I used Wooltops British wool DK. You could easily substiture any DK yarn with which you can achieve gauge and some suitable alternatives are listed.
Always allow some extra yarn.
