A lightweight shawlette featuring a lace stitch pattern that is delicate and elegant.
Delicate Balance is perfect for a summer evening out or for a special occasion, but also to tone up your everyday outfit.
Delicate Balance has an unusual “half donut” shape that is worked sideways with short rows. The gentle curve obtained makes the shawl very easy to wear, because it stays put on your shoulder.
The border is worked together with the body in one piece in relatively small 32 Rows repeats. The “lighter than air” look is achieved simply dropping some strategically placed stitches and letting them unravel to the other side of the shawl. Easy and fun!
Finished size: Diam. 170 cm (69”); depth 35 cm (13.75”).
Note on yarn substitution: You can use any silk or silk mix fingering yarn in a solid or tonal color. Alpaca can work as well as any other yarn with a good drape.
Suggested needle size: 3 mm/US 2.5.
