What Light Shines

A 2 400-word story about a shy little rabbit, named Shine after the rainbow pendant she wears. Ever since she was found alone in the forest by a woodcutter, Shine has brought curses and ruin to her village... or so the other rabbits say. The day arrives when she must leave her troubled home to face the fearsome world all by herself - but with bravery and resourcefulness, Shine finds her own inner light.

This short story was published in the convention booklet of What The Fur? 2013, an all-ages furry convention formerly held in Montreal, Canada.

This story is rated PG for scenes of social injustice and high fantasy peril. The main character gets shamed and ostracized by her own kind. She gets menaced by dangerous creatures, but she successfully flees from them or drives them away. (Everything turns out alright in the end.)
