with Camera Gnome's app I have many troubles but with webcamoid I can film with my webcam without problem.

My relatively old Dell Inspiron 7300 2n1 laptop was upgraded from Windows 10 to Linux Mint Cinnamon, latest version. I thought that there was a drivers mismatch for the camera not to work. Did not realize that the camera was not working because there was a physical tab blocking the camera that I had to slide to make it work.

Anyway, before realizing this, I did some Reddit reviews where Webcamoid came highly recommended. I reached out to the developer (Hipersayan) directly to inquire what would happen to my purchase if Webcamoid were not to work. He felt that it should work. I confided at the outset to being a non computer guy.

It took two to three weeks of back and forth emails with tweaking the codes of his software to make his product work as intended in Linux Mint. The physical camera block was also 'discovered' along the way.

Finally it is now up and running and the image is awesome! His passion to making his product one of the finest is inspiring! Even when I thought that it might not be worth the trouble, he did not let go and kept making updates in his software.

Very complete and full-featured for everything you need to do with your webcam outside of videoconferencing.

Great app. No problem setting it up and easy to use.
