Inheritors of the Prophets - Ibn Rajab Al-Hanbali

Inheritors of the Prophets (often translated as The Heirs of the Prophets) is a classical Islamic treatise by the renowned 14th-century scholar Imam Ibn Rajab al-Hanbali. The text is a profound commentary on the Prophetic tradition: "The scholars are the inheritors of the Prophets. The Prophets do not leave gold or silver coins to be inherited, rather they leave knowledge, so whoever takes from that has taken an abundant share." Ibn Rajab argues that the highest and most beneficial knowledge is that which brings one closer to God and prepares the believer for the Hereafter. While worldly sciences are valuable, they do not compare to the understanding of divine guidance.
