In Spanish, solana means sunshine or the sunny side of a mountain or valley. After a long winter, we long for the warm rays of sunshine to spark the signs of spring. Flowers start to bloom, yet the breeze is still a bit chilly. The Solana Shawl is a bright and cheerful crescent-shaped shawl that is a great layering piece for those unpredictable spring temperatures.
This is an intermediate level pattern. It requires knowledge of how to change colors and uses modifications of basic stitches.
The pattern is written in standard US crochet terms. It comes in one size.
Dimensions:
51” (129.5 cm) x 21.5” (54.5 cm)
Here’s what you’ll need:
Hooks: 4 mm and 5 mm
Yarn: 4 skeins of yarn, each a different color. They may be either:
Fingering weight: 1600 yards (1463 m), or
DK weight: 800-900 yards (731-823 m) DK weight, based on tester experience
