For me, a peanut butter sandwich is the ultimate comfort food. Fresh bread and a layer of peanut butter create a simple and irresistible combination. Looking for the peanut butter sandwich of hats? Look no further! This simple design has a tight fitting brim and looser fabric for the main body of the hat. It has an accent color on the inside of the brim, and a rapid 8-point crown decrease. It is knit from the brim up to the crown in fingering weight yarn.

YARN:
Fingering weight / heavy fingering weight sock yarn, such as Six and Seven Fiber Alfalfa base: 382 yards (349 m) per 100 g, 80 % Superwash Merino Wool, 10% Cashmere, 10% Nylon. Use any fingering weight yarn you like to achieve the suggested gauge.

MC: 200, 212, 224, 236 yd (183, 194, 205, 216) m
Yardage estimate for MC is for slouchy length. Beanie length will use about 80% of this estimate.
CC: (32, 32, 32, 36) yd (29, 29, 29, 33 m)

This includes a 10% buffer based on my sample yarn usage.

Sample is shown in Adult S/M, slouchy length, and used 195 yards (178 m) of colorway Harvest 004 for MC and 31 yards (28 m) of colorway Silent Night for CC.

GAUGE:
24 stitches & 36 rounds = 4” (10 cm) on larger needles in stockinette stitch after blocking
NOTE: size is given for body of hat. The brim will be a little tighter due to the smaller needle size.
