The Whispering Maw

Deep in the northern wilds lies the Whispering Maw: a forest where time rots, light starves, and the trees remember every scream ever uttered beneath their boughs. For generations, it has been a myth, a cautionary tale spoken in hushed tones by those who fear what lies beyond the veil of thorns.  

 But Elara knows better.  

 A scarred woods-ranger with eyes like flint and a blade that drinks shadows, she has seen the truth: the Maw is spreading. A creeping blight, silent, insidious, and ravenous, has begun to bleed from its edges, poisoning crops, twisting beasts, and unraveling the minds of those who live too close. Her own village is dying.  

Driven by desperation and a debt she cannot name, Elara ventures into the cursed heart of the forest, seeking not treasure, but truth. What she finds is far worse than legend: the ruins of Eldoria, a kingdom not destroyed, but eaten. Its people fused into the very bark of the trees, their memories devoured by an ancient horror known only as the Shadow Weaver, a primordial entity that feeds on remembrance itself.  

 And at its throne, fused into a living tree of bone and amber, sits King Theron, his sin still breathing, his pact still binding the world to darkness.
