Jezebel's Lament - paperback version

Kill the Prophet Elijah, or Be Fed to the Dogs. What Is a Poor Queen to Do?

Jezebel. Yes, that Jezebel. Killer of prophets, corrupter of priests, seducer of kings, the Old Testament's most delicious supervillain, and a byword for toxic femininity...

Or so the Bible writers would have you believe!

But, through the lively wit of Abdiel LeRoy, Jezebel mounts a spirited defense of her role and reputation.

Not "harlot queen," she insists, but "virgin bride," not murderer but moderate, and certainly not the villain in her epic struggle with that loudmouth prophet Elijah and his "whoreson" successor, Elisha.

Jezebel's Lament is a riveting and saucy yarn, weaving invention around Scripture's narrative, while offering compelling insights into the 'monsters' who live, and even rule, among us!

"I love reading and listening to LeRoy's stories: one, because they are unique, and two, because he is just that good. I love this perspective of Jezebel, as she tries to deal with her 'reputation' that clearly exists to this day. A definite attention grabber, intriguing, and entertaining, while making the reader really care about Jezebel."

Amy's Bookshelf Reviews

"LeRoy is a gifted muse, but give him a story like this one, connected to his love of Elijah... and holy cow what springs forth is amazing! I cannot recommend this highly enough!"
