Shifting Sands Cowl is a top-down, lightweight cowl that features some breezy lace patterns, providing amazing drape and movement. The cowl can be worn in multiple ways, making it an excellent transitional piece.

The pattern includes both written and charted instructions.

Front 15” 38 cm deep, back 8” 20 cm deep, 48” 122 cm bottom circumference, 34” 86 cm top neck circumference.

Eden Cottage Yarns Keld Fingering (90% Superwash Extrafine Merino, 10% Linen fingering; 394 yards 360 meters/100 grams): Heathered Crags (1 ball).
The sample used approx. 383 yards 350 meters of yarn.

Needles
US size 6 (4 mm) and size 8 (5 mm): 32” (80 cm) circular

Removable stitch markers, tapestry needle or crochet hook to weave in ends, row counter (optional)

20 sts x 34 rows = 4” (10 cm) in St st.
18 sts x 32 rnds = 4” (10 cm) in Diagonal Eyelets lace patt.
21 sts x 32 rnds = 4” (10 cm) in Gull Wings lace patt.

Techniques
Cable cast on, knit increases and decreases, make one increases, yarnovers.
