KAGE NOISE-X MB

The KG NOISE-X MB is a specialized noise reduction plug-in that precisely detects and eliminates unwanted noise within an audio signal using a Multi-Band approach. Unlike typical broadband noise gates, it divides the entire frequency spectrum into five bands SUB, LOW, MID, HIGH, and TREBLE allowing an independent Threshold to be set for each band. This enables the effective isolation of unnecessary noise while minimizing the impact on musical signals or primary sounds.

The KG NOISE-X MB is particularly strong at removing background noise like Room Tone and Atmosphere. It naturally eliminates various ambient sounds generated by the recording environment, such as computer CPU fan noise, air conditioner noise, ventilation sounds, and exterior sounds, thus clearly separating sounds close to the microphone, like vocals, instrument sounds, and Foley. While it also offers some help with electrical/mechanical noises such as Hum, ground noise, jitter noise, and Hiss, the core purpose of this plug-in is the natural separation and cleanup of background noise residing in the low-to-mid frequency ranges.

The THRESHOLD knob for each band sets the level at which noise removal begins, and the various control knobs at the bottom adjust the detailed operation of the noise reduction algorithm. INTENSITY controls the strength of the reduction, and ATTACK and RELEASE govern the reaction speed of the noise gate to ensure smooth and natural results. Furthermore, dedicated controls, X-HUM and X-RUMBLE, can specifically target and eliminate electrical hum noise and low-frequency rumble noise, respectively, completing a clean and clear final sound.
