This collection contains the patterns for both The Wayfarer Hat and the Passport Mitts.

The Wayfarer Hat:
An asymmetrical addition to your fall and winter wardrobe, The Wayfarer Hat is fun to knit and stylish to wear. Can be made in original beanie fit or slouchier, relaxed fit.

Skills Needed:  Cable Cast-On, working in the round, knitting through the back loop, cables, k2tog, p2tog.

Sizes, to fit: Child/Teen (Adult Small, Adult Large, Adult X-Large)
Actual Head size, inches:  18 (21, 23, 25)
Actual Head size, cm:  45.7 (53.3, 58.4, 63.5)

Finished Measurements: 
Circumference: Approximately 17 ¼ (19, 20 ¾, 24 ¼ ) in. [43.8 (48.3, 52.7, 61.6) cm].
Length:  7 ¼ (7 ½ , 7 ¾ , 8 ¼) in. [18.4 (19.1, 19.7, 21.0) cm].

Yarn:  Approximately 200 (200, 250, 300) yds. [183 (183, 229, 274) meters] Malabrigo Arroyo (Sport/
5 ply, 100% Merino, 335 yard/100 grams).

Needles:  Circular needles: 16 in. [40 cm] US Size 2 [2.75 mm] and US Size 3 [3.25 mm], and double pointed needles: US Size 3 [3.25 mm], or size needed to obtain gauge. 

To achieve relaxed fit, increase needle size for body of hat and add at least one extra repeat of rounds 1-6 of body of hat (see pattern notes).

Gauge:  27 sts and 44 rows = 4" [10 cm] in pattern stitch on larger needles.  Gauge is after wet blocking and drying flat.

Other Materials:  Cable needle, stitch markers, tapestry needle.

Passport Mitts:
These long and elegant cabled fingerless mitts are a wonderful addition to your wardrobe and they make the perfect gift. Designed with extra stitches near the thumb gusset to better center the motif down the back of the hand.  In addition to written instructions, charts are provided for each size and thumb gusset.

Skills Needed: Working in the round; knitting through the back loop; cables; Backward-Loop Cast-On; picking up stitches; k2tog, p2tog, m1, kfb.

Sizes: Women’s Small (Large). Pattern is worked with zero to negative ease for a snug fit.

Circumference at Widest Part of Hand: 6 ½ (7 ½) in. [16.5 (19.1) cm].
Length: approx. 7 ¾ in. [19.7 cm].

Which Size Should You Make?
If your hand measurement at widest part is 6 ½ – 7 ½ in. [16.5-19.1 cm], make size SMALL.
If your hand measurement at widest part is 7 ½ – 8 ½ in. [19.1-21.6 cm]. make size LARGE.

Yarn: Approximately 200 yds. [183 meters] Sport or DK yarn (shown in Malabrigo Arroyo).

Needles: DPNs in US size 2 [2.75 mm] and US size 3 [3.25 mm] (or size needed to obtain gauge), or appropriate needles for your preferred style of knitting in the round.
