A lot of good students lose a job interview before it even starts. The shirt has a stain, the resume is still on the printer, or the ride never shows up. These cards walk students through everything that happens before the handshake, in 24 small steps: the night before, the morning of, and the walk to the front desk.

Each card has one step and one clear picture. The set comes in three levels, plus a fill in My Interview Info page that students keep in their folder.

A plan they have practiced, and a backup for each surprise, does most of the work. That is why there is a What If? page for running late, forgetting a resume, and a racing heart in the waiting room.

What's included:

• 24 sequence cards at Level A (picture + 1 to 3 words)

• 24 sequence cards at Level B (picture + short sentence + a "Stuck?" backup line)

• Level C independent checklist

• My Interview Info fill in page

• One page visual checklist

• What If? page with 6 situations

• First/Then board and check off strips

• Student self check

• Teacher and parent page with a fading guide and an IEP goal idea

• Data sheet

How I use it:

We pack real folders in class, rehearse the check in line at a pretend front desk, and run the night before steps as homework. Afterward, we move on to interview questions with my Job Interview Practice | 36 Question Cards + Mock Interview Rubric | SPED.

How this is different from my other interview products: Job Interview Practice | 36 Question Cards + Mock Interview Rubric | SPED is about what to say. This set is about everything that happens before the student is asked a single question.

Who it is for: high school special education, transition programs for ages 18 to 21, vocational and work based learning teams, and families. Grades 9 to 12 and adult transition.

What you download: one printable PDF, 17 pages, US Letter.
