This machine washable blankie pattern is ideal for a beginning knitter or someone who loves some garter stitch! Just the right size for a stroller or a car seat, this is knit in strips and joined by whip stitching so that as the child ages, the blanket can be reduced in size. A toddler or preschooler can carry around part of this while the other section is in the wash!
This can be easily adapted and enlarged for wheel chair users or lapghans.
Note: This can be worked with a fingering weight yarn that is doubled or a single strand of a DK weight yarn. In any case, use a machine washable yarn to protect the sanity of the baby’s mom!

Gauge: 22 stitches and 40 rows = 4 inches in garter stitch with fingering yarn doubled or single strand of DK weight
