This book looks at over 150 women from the towns of Greenock, Gourock and Port Glasgow, telling stories of wealth, empire, religion, war, medicine, education, business, nobility and marriage in short pen portraits. Their stories are brought to light through 400 years of history in which men have dominated the received knowledge of these times.
