Ghat Safty Arduino Project (Arduino code & Diagram)
U Turn Road Safety Project || Accident Prevention Science Project
________________________________________________________
At dangerous ghat roads and blind U-turns, vehicles coming from opposite directions may not be visible to each other. This project uses two IR sensors to detect vehicles approaching from both sides and provides a visual and audible warning to improve road safety.
🔧 Components Used:
• Arduino UNO
• 2 × IR Sensors
• Red LED
• Green LED
• Buzzer
• Resistors & connecting wires
⚙️ How It Works:
The two IR sensors are installed on opposite sides of the U-turn. When a vehicle is detected by an IR sensor, the Arduino processes the signal and controls the LEDs and buzzer to indicate the road condition.
🟢 Green LED – Road is clear / safe
🔴 Red LED – Vehicle detected / caution
🔊 Buzzer – Warning alert for approaching vehicles
🎯 Project Objective:
To demonstrate an affordable Arduino-based road safety concept that can be used as a prototype for dangerous ghat curves, blind turns and U-turns.
⚠️ This is an educational prototype and should not be directly installed on public roads without proper engineering, testing and safety certification.
