This is one of my favorite history books to read aloud! This book is written in a literary style and it’s funny, too. Your children will enjoy it! Note that there is a bit of an evolutionary perspective at the beginning of the book. 

This book is scheduled at a pace of one or two chapters per week from Week 1 through Week 28. The first half of this book lines up with the time period studied in Cycle 1, and the second half lines up with Cycle 2.
