The Konstrukcija series is a collection of chamber works written in a "constructive", aleatoric format, with a subtle nod to my heritage as a Croatian-American. The first is highly modular, allowing the performers a great degree of freedom with which to compose the performance. There is a visual logic to the composition, but performers are invited to expand upon the composition as they wish, allowing a degree of expressivity otherwise un-cultivated in a "straight ahead" piece of music. The composition should be played in a brief fashion, whatever that means to the performers.
