The Great Exchange: Giving Up Small Dreams for His Bigger One

What if the dream you are holding onto is too small?

Abraham left the security of home to follow a promise he could not yet see.

Moses turned away from the privileges of Pharaoh’s palace to identify with the people of God.

Peter and Andrew dropped their nets when Jesus called, “Follow Me, and I will make you fishers of men.”

Saul was stopped on the Damascus road and discovered that the mission he had passionately pursued was actually fighting against the very God he wanted to serve.

Different people. Different dreams. But each encountered the same invitation:

Let go of the life you can build for yourself and enter the greater story God is writing.

The Great Exchange is a 9-day devotional journey about surrender—but not the kind that promises an easier, richer, or more successful life.

God’s dream is bigger because His purposes are bigger.

And before Abraham left home, Moses left the palace, the fishermen dropped their nets, or Saul surrendered his plans, there was an even greater exchange.

Jesus gave Himself for us.

He left heaven, stepped into our world, took the form of a servant, and went to the cross. Everything we surrender to Him is simply our response to the One who first gave everything for us.

Over these nine days, you’ll be invited to loosen your grip on the future you can control and trust the God whose purposes reach farther than you can see.

God’s dream is not bigger because it makes your life bigger.

It is bigger because it makes your life part of what He is doing.
