Toasty Mittens & Hat Set

This digital download contains two knitting patterns, one for mittens, one for a hat.

The mittens are double layered, for maximum warmth. The outer mitten is worked with a sock yarn double-stranded with a soft and warm alpaca and silk blend; a lining is made out of the silk and alpaca yarn, for even more warm deliciousness.

There's 9 sizes of mittens, for young children to large adults - 
To fit hand circumf.: 5 (5.5, 6, 6.5, 7, 7.5, 8, 8.5, 9) inches/ 12.5 (14, 15, 16.5, 18, 19, 20.5, 21.5, 23) cm
Finished hand circumf: 6 (6.5, 7, 7.5, 8, 8.5, 9, 9.5, 10) inches/ 15 (16.5, 18, 19, 20.5, 21.5, 23, 24, 25.5) cm

The hat is worked top-down, to use up leftovers of sock yarn. The mittens use up most of the laceweight, but less than half of the sock yarn, so there's plenty for the hat! It's a straightforward and flexible hat design - wear it fitted or slouchy, make it beanie-length or longer, to your taste. There's five sizes for all your needs from older children to adults, finished circumference: 16 (18, 20, 22, 24) inches/ 40.5 (45.5, 51, 56, 61) cm.

The samples were worked with one skein (420 yds) of Feisty Fibre's merino-based Rockin Sox and one skein of Fiesty Fibres YES Suri! baby alpaca and silk blend laceweight (328 yds). For the mittens, you'll need almost all of the laceweight, but less than half of the sock yarn. The hat uses most of the rest of the sock yarn.
