Broadcast Production 101
Ten specialists, twenty live sources, one picture going out
A broadcast is a room full of people making one picture. Eight or ten specialists, each holding one job, sitting close enough to hear each other, turning twenty live sources into a single feed that somebody watches on a sofa four hundred miles away. Nobody in that room can do the job alone and nobody in it is watching the whole show except one person.
